1. Program Overview
TTP Academy is a structured photography training and mentorship program created by TheTurksonPhotography to train and develop student photographers. The academy provides both theoretical knowledge and practical experience in photography.
Participants learn technical skills, practice photography through guided sessions, observe professional shoots, and eventually participate in real photography projects. The program is designed to help students build strong portfolios, gain real world experience, and develop the confidence to pursue photography professionally.
The program operates primarily at the University of Ghana and is open to students who are passionate about photography and visual storytelling. Participation in the program is completely free.
2. Intake Capacity
Each cohort admits 30 students only. Due to the practical nature of the training and the limited number of available positions, selection into the academy is competitive.
3. Program Duration
The program runs for 12 months and is divided into four phases.
Phase 1 – Theory Training (6 Weeks)

Phase 2 – Practical Lessons (6 Weeks)

Phase 3 – Observation and Field Learning (3 Months)
- Assisting during matriculation shoots
- Observing event photography workflows

Phase 4 – Fellowship Phase (6 Months)
Participants become active photography fellows and participate in real photography projects while building professional portfolios.

8. Attendance Policy

10. Equipment Responsibility
Equipment must be handled carefully and used only for approved activities. Participants may be held responsible for damages caused by negligence.
11. Commitment Policy
Although the program is free, participants must actively contribute to all activities and projects.
12. Photography Ownership
TheTurksonPhotography retains rights to images taken during official projects. Participants may use their images in portfolios with proper credit.
13. Mentorship Structure
Mentorship focuses on technical skills, creativity, client management, and professional growth.
14. Dismissal Policy
Participants may be dismissed for absence, misconduct, negligence, or lack of professionalism.
15. Program Completion
Successful participants graduate from TTP Academy and may pursue photography careers or join the official team photography team under TheTurksonPhotography.
